Basement window wells are now required in all basement living spaces per the International Residential Code (IRC) for use in emergency situations. Well covers protect access to egress wells and prevent anything or anyone from accidentally falling in. Covers also keep leaves and debris from clogging up the egress. 

The Wellcraft 5600 Dome Window Well Cover is made from tough polycarbonate plastic that can support up to 500 lbs of load.  

The unit comes with a fastener system engineered to withstand hurricane-force winds and is still easy to remove when necessary. 

By IRC Code: Egress wells must be installed in all below-grade living spaces.

Rule of Thumb: The Flat well cover is used on windows fully beneath the ground-grade, where the Dome cover is appropriate for windows partially below grade.

Window well covers are only for use with the designated Wellcraft Window Wells and do not fit generic or off brand window wells.

Window Well Covers cannot be sold separately. They are only able to ship with a qualifying Wellcraft System purchase.
